Tonight I did something I haven’t been able to do since being sick. My parents are the owners of a small local candy store that I spent my teenage years working in. I’ve since moved on to a new career but I have always enjoyed helping out during the holiday season.
When I got sick everything about retail became too challenging and the tole it would have taken on my body was just not worth it. Tonight, however, I worked a shift with my father and enjoyed every second of it. It’s not something I could do often but for now it was just enough.
Sometimes it’s important to remember that it is not how far we have to go, but how far we have come, that matters most.
Now I feel like I am going to sleep for the next 12 hours. But first: What are some of the unique things that you enjoy doing most this time of year? I also wanted to give a huge shout out and thank you to my first few readers! It means more to me than you know!
