Out of Spoons

Out of Spoons

Have you ever had one of those days when you don’t really have that much going on, but for whatever reason, by 6:00pm you feel like you’ve run a marathon? Well unfortunately that’s what most days are like with Lyme Disease. And honestly, those are good days. On bad days you just feel like you’ve gotten run over by a truck.

Today is the first day of a 5 day long weekend for me as I’m using up some holiday time from work. All I had to do today was go to the dentist first thing and then take the dog to the groomer; but for some reason that was too much, and instead of listening to my body, I pushed through. Now I’m exhausted, in excruciating pain, and to be frank, grumpy as all get out about it.

I am very lucky these types of days are getting further and further apart as I slowly get better, but I still need to work on pacing myself. For tonight though, I am throwing in the towel early and hoping to be better tomorrow.

What’s a lesson your chronic illness has taught you?

Pacing hasn’t become a wish it’s become a mandatory reality. Hoping tomorrow brings you more spoons.🥄🥄🌸
